Following up three stellar EPs on their label BlueCube, Barcelona-based duo Jose Lucker and Nuria Ghia return as the powerfully successful moniker B-Quartz with Marjan EP.
Known for its intelligent and future-forward techno sounds, the BlueCube label adds two of the genres heavy hitters on remix duties to supply dance floors with unstoppable grooving force. Already receiving support from great names across the globe such as Angel Molina and Laurent Garnier, to name a few, the fourth installment provides nothing but quality.
Representing a city that has proven time and again to be a haven for talented producers, Barcelona’s B-Quartz label supplies heaped doses of techno groove and pumping percussion with its Original Mix of Marjan. The stripped vocal loop gives a dark feeling of old-school warehouse after-parties as the track touches on tasteful tints of energy.
Italy’s own Alex Costa is first up on remix duties with an already impressive catalogue of productions behind him. Alex has received support from the world’s top tastemakers and continues to impress with successful releases on labels like Toolroom Records, Aella and Intacto. His special brand of tech house takes Marjan to a bassy oasis as accelerating deep drums rattle the mix into a minimal break, building up only to shatter the silence with a fierce drop of bass and beats.
A young up-and-comer from Colombia delivers a forceful and menacing mix of Marjan. Sean Random is already known for his top quality and perfected production style as his tough techno sound leaves dance floors wanting more. His career has yielded astonishing work on quality labels like Inmotion Music, Kaapro Records and Local Music. Now he makes his loud statement by turning Marjan into a chaotic and compelling dose of stomping techno. Heavy percussion with tight verb leaves a feeling of after-hours in a Berlin basement, with his South American influence heard in his layered, up-tempo drum rhythms.
